Ancient Earthquakes

Italy-China Trade Relations
This book examines the political connections and trade relations between Italy and China, with particular emphasis on the second half of the 19th century and the period following the Second World War. In recent years, economic relations between the two countries have intensified as a result of increasing exchange and trade agreements, with positive impacts on their political and diplomatic relations. By studying original public sources such as the Archives of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Bank of Italy and the Central State Archives in Rome, the author offers a historical perspective on the evolution of the two countries’ economic and political ties. The respective chapters address e.g. the role of international governmental authorities, the role of the Italian Bank of China, the impact of trade agreements and foreign investment projects, etc. Given its scope, the book will appeal to scholars of economic history and international economics, as well as political scientists and legal scholars with an interest in international diplomacy and trade agreements.

Articolato in un solo tomo, il Notiziario 2010 contiene, in apertura, gli Atti del convegno in onore di Valerio Cianfarani dal titolo “Valerio Cianfarani e le culture medioadriatiche”, tenutosi a Chieti e Teramo dal 27 al 29 giugno 2008. Gli Atti sono curati da Emanuela Ceccaroni, Amalia Fastoferri e Andrea Pessina. Il volume include le consuete due sezioni dedicate alle Notizie e alle Attività Varie. Le prime, suddivise per province, accolgono le relazioni degli interventi effettuati nel corso del 2010 dalla Soprintendenza, sia direttamente che indirettamente attraverso il controllo e/o la partecipazione a scavi, ricerche e studi di archeologia di Università, cooperative o società archeologiche, gruppi archeologici e centri di ricerca italiani e stranieri. L’ultima sezione contiene brevi notizie sugli eventi, mostre, laboratori scolastici collegati alla Soprintendenza archeologica.

Il volume raccoglie gli atti del VII Convegno Nazionale dell’ARCo “Attualità delle aree archeologiche: esperienze e proposte”, svoltosi dal 24 al 26 ottobre 2013 presso la Facoltà di Architettura Roma Tre. Il Convegno ha posto temi che attengono al restauro, alla conservazione, alle metodologie e alle tecniche d’intervento con particolare attenzione alle relazioni con il contesto urbano. Nero und Domitian
Nero und Domitian, die bis heute nicht nur in der Populärkultur als mali principes gelten, sind bislang zumeist einzeln oder im Kontext ihrer eigenen Dynastien untersucht worden. Dieser Band unternimmt erstmals den Versuch, die Herrscherrepräsentation beider Kaiser im Vergleich zu analysieren. Durch eine solche komparative Herangehensweise sollen die spezifischen Profile ihrer Herrschaft, Kontinuitäten und Brüche in ihrer Repräsentation sowie Transgressionen bestehender Normen herausgearbeitet werden. Dafür werden die Darstellungen beider Kaiser in den verschiedenen Medien - in der Literatur, in Inschriften, Bildnissen und Münzen - aus der Perspektive mehrerer altertumswissenschaftlicher Fachdisziplinen betrachtet. Ziel ist es, so die verschiedenen Strategien und Praktiken ihrer Repräsentation zu untersuchen und dabei die Diskurse der neronischen und domitianischen Herrschaft nachzuzeichnen.--
