International LGBTQ+ Literature for Children and Young Adults
This edited collection explores LGBTQ+ literature for young readers around the world, and connects this literature to greater societal, political, linguistic, historical, and cultural concerns. It brings together contributions from across the academic and activist spectra, looking at picture books, middle-grade books and young adult novels to explore what is at stake when we write (or do not write) about LGBTQ+ topics for young readers. The topics include the representation of sexualities and gender identities; depictions of queer families; censorship; links between culture, language and sexuality/gender; translation of LGBTQ+ literature for young readers; and self-publishing. It is the first collection to expand the study of LGBTQ+ literature for young readers beyond the English-speaking world and to draw cross-cultural comparisons.

Educação, gênero e sexualidade
Este livro aborda um amplo conjunto de questões no campo dos estudos de gênero, sexualidade e educação no Brasil, cujo alicerce teórico-político pauta-se nas produções feministas, nos estudos queer, no pós-estruturalismo, na interface com as pedagogias decoloniais e interseccionais, em uma estreita vinculação com o contexto cultural e político contemporâneo. Nos últimos anos, temas como gênero, sexualidade e corpo têm gerado um grande desconforto por parte de grupos conservadores. Pesquisas realizadas com essas temáticas são colocadas em suspeição e docentes que atuam em todas as etapas de ensino relatam uma série de perseguições ao conduzirem suas aulas pelo viés dos Direitos Humanos, em defesa da equidade de gênero, das identidades vistas como dissidentes e de uma educação para as relações étnico-raciais. Esse vigoroso debate tem se fortalecido a partir do ativismo político em conjunto com as pesquisas que aqui apresentamos.
The Trade in the Living
Macro-level study of the South Atlantic throughout the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries demonstrating how Brazils emergence was built on the longest and most intense slave trade of the modern era. The seventeenth-century missionary and diplomat Father Antônio Vieira once observed that Brazil was nourished, animated, sustained, served, and conserved by the sad blood of the black and unfortunate souls imported from Angola. In The Trade in the Living, Luiz Felipe de Alencastro demonstrates how the African slave trade was an essential element in the South Atlantic and in the ongoing cohesion of Portuguese America, while at the same time the concrete interests of Brazilian colonists, dependent on Angolan slaves, were often violently asserted in Africa, to ensure men and commodities continued to move back and forth across the Atlantic. In exposing this intricate and complementary relationship between two non-European continents, de Alencastro has fashioned a new and challenging examination of colonial Brazil, one that moves beyond its relationship with Portugal to discover a darker, hidden history.
Radical Sex Between Men
Bringing together theory and public health practice, this interdisciplinary collection analyses three forms of nonconventional or radical sexualities: bareback sex, BDSM practices, and public sex. Drawing together the latest empirical research from Brazil, Canada, Spain, and the USA, it mobilizes queer theory and poststructuralism, engaging the work of theorists such as Bataille, Butler, Deleuze and Guattari, and Foucault, among others.
