This book investigates the relationship between the process of Europeanization – the expected rise of a common culture – and the role played by the media in the different regions. Drawing on a comparative model, the analysis is structured around frameworks related to the action of the media in shaping national identities; to the world-system theory, based on the hierarchization of geographical spaces; and to the regional patterns identified in scientific literature. The analysis draws on data collected from numerous markets and across a variety of media formats, to detect the geographical pattern that results from the diffusion of different technologies and cultural contents: the national, the regional, the European, and the global. This book contributes to the discourse about science communication strategies from different perspectives. The first part sets the focus on case studies and best practises of science communication and storytelling. The second part presents 40 different popular science texts about different topics written by students within the scope of the course "Science Writing and Journalism" in the Department of Communication and Design at Bilkent University in Ankara. Lutz Peschke liefert einen Beitrag zum Verständnis, wie Wissensaneignung durch Infografiken bei Rezipienten in der Freizeit motiviert wird und stattfindet. Für die Untersuchungen hat der Autor ein Medien-Aneignungsmodell unter Berücksichtigung der freiwillig motivierten Relevanz entwickelt und auf den Prozess der Wissensaneignung mittels Infografiken angewendet. Zusätzlich wurden das katalytische Potential und sein Einfluss auf die Wissensaneignung untersucht. Infografiken sind eine eigenständige und zeittypische Präsentationsform, die durch die Mediatisierung kommunikativen und sozialen Handelns, vor allem durch die Durchdringung kommunikativer Handlungen mit mobilen Endgeräten für die Informations- und Wissensaneignung, eine stark zunehmende Bedeutung erlangt haben. Sie sind hinsichtlich ihrer semiotischen Eigenschaften zwischen dem Bild und Verbaltext verortet.

Disiplinler arası niteliği itibariyle kişisel verilerin korunması; Anayasa Hukuku, Medeni Hukuk, İdare Hukuku ve Ceza Hukuku gibi çeşitli alanları ilgilendirir. Elinizdeki kitapta ise kişisel verilerin korunması, yalnızca akdi sorumluluk müesseseleri bağlamında incelenmiştir. Bu kapsamda, özellikle bu alandaki sorumluluk süjeleri olan veri sorumlusu ile veri işleyen arasındaki sözleşme ilişkisi, “kişisel veri işleme sözleşmesi” olarak adlandırılmış ve konuya ilişkin değerlendirmelerde bulunulmuştur. Ayrıca kişisel verilerin korunmasına özgü olarak sözleşme görüşmelerinden doğan sorumluluk halleri, genel işlem şartlarının denetimi ve diğer akdi sorumluluk durumları değerlendirilmiştir. Son olarak bu alana özgü hukuka uygunluk sebeplerine yer verilmiş; hukuka aykırı şekilde işlenen kişisel verilere ilişkin genel koruma yollarıyla 6698 sayılı Kanun’dan doğan özel koruma yolları ve özellikle ilgili kişinin zararının giderilmesini talep etme hakkı irdelenmiştir.
"Advances in Nanomaterials in Biomedicine" provided a platform for more than 110 researchers from different countries to present their latest investigations in various fields of nanotechnology, new methods and nanomaterials intended for medical applications. Modern achievements in the field of nanoparticle-based diagnostics, drug delivery and the use of various nanomaterials in the treatment of diseases are presented in 11 original articles. The published reviews provide a comprehensive analysis of the current information on the use of nanomedicine in the treatment and diagnosis of cancer and liver fibrosis, in the field of solid tissue engineering and in drug delivery systems.
The book provides an introduction to all aspects of the physics of quasicrystals. The chapters, each written by an expert in this field, cover quasiperiodic tilings and the modeling of the atomic structure of quasicrystals. The electronic density of states and the calculation of the electronic structure play a key role in this introduction, as does an extensive discussion of the atomic dynamics. The study of defects in quasicrystals by high resolution electron microscopy and the computer simulations of defects and fracture in decorated tilings are important subjects for the application of these aperiodic crystals.
