New Directions in the Skeletal Biology of Greece
The papers in this book reflect current studies being conducted in the field of bioarchaeology in Greece. The authors present material ranging in date from the Palaeolithic to modern times. Biological anthropologists working in the Mediterranean region can draw on a wealth of archaeological and documentary evidence to inform their hypotheses. The Complex of Tumuli 9, 10 and 11 in the Necropolis of Apollonia (Albania)
Between 2002 and 2006 the Albanian Rescue Archaeology Unit excavated at Apollonia, one of the most important Archaic Greek colonies in the Mediterranean, and one of the three major sites of Albania, with Butrint and Durres. The city is located approximately 10 km from the Adriatic coast. This work presents the findings of this extensive site.
