"Not another Lifetime movie!" Hello, my name is Lyzza Janette and this is my story. All the stories I talk about in this book (my diary) are based on real-life events that occurred to me. The reason I wrote this book is not only to heal by writing down my feelings as a therapy, but also to inspire those who are suffering from grief, depression, hopelessness, a broken heart, unemployment, and health issues. I aspire to be a paradigm by giving hope and light to others who only see darkness. I yearn to discourse about adversities that need to be addressed and are a taboo to articulate about in public (mental health). Butterfly
I needed to save myself, since nobody was coming to save me or rescue me. Prince charming never came and he sure was not coming any time soon. I got tired of waiting, so I decided to liberate myself. I needed to get myself out of my depression. Nobody was going to do it but myself. Nobody was there to save me or help me! I need to save myself! I needed to be my own superhero! I screamed so many times and nobody heard my cries for help or felt my pain. To all the women/men who need someone to save you, you don't need to wait for someone to save you. You can save yourself! You are free like a butterfly. Spread your wings. Spread your wings like a butterfly and fly. Some people spend a lifetime searching for that butterfly feeling when they are trying to meet someone special.

Miguel Angel Martinez was the first and youngest in Texas to be on death row. Miguel Angel Martinez is still in prison serving a life sentence. His sentence to death was commuted to a life sentence. Miguel Angel Martinez has been eligible for parole since 2006 but keeps getting denied, due to the nature of the crime he "supposedly" committed. My life fell into strangers hands the day my mother died. I was just six years old. My father, if I can call him that, denied paternity and left me in the street until a neighbour took me in. From that moment on, I lived from day to day without really knowing what the outcome would be. From a kind neighbour through to an aunt and then on to Barnardos and a few foster homes, my life took the shape of an unsettled traveller. Becoming pregnant at sixteen years old, I found myself in another institution. The outcome of this is related in my book. I met my future husband in 1963. Even though, as I stated in my book, I did not know a good thing when I saw it, we did eventually marry in 1965 and had thirty-eight years together until he passed away in 2002. I have three daughters and three grandchildren of whom I am extremely proud.

Getting Up Even Stronger
The purpose of this book is to help others who are going through the same situation as I am, get up even stronger. I want to reveal how I got through my hardest times and overcame my obstacles. Hence, revealing to others what principles I followed, what books I read, and programs I watched that gave me hope. I wanted to show others how to keep going forward in life.
