Chronic kidney disease is a global major health issue that ultimately leads to end-stage renal disease, a devastating condition requiring costly renal replacement therapy. Given this background, extensive understanding of the pathogenesis of the disease and exploring novel therapeutic targets will help to alleviate disease progression, improve prognosis and reduce its impact on the global economic burden.Currently, primary glomerulonephritis is the leading cause of chronic kidney disease and end-stage renal disease in China and many other countries. Recently, there has been much progress with regard to pathogenesis as well as treatment of primary glomerulonephritis. Clinical data from Chinese studies have significantly contributed to the making of international guidelines and histological classifications of the disease. This book looks at how young people get attracted to the Far Right, especially young white men. We may never know why a young individual ends up there, yet two things are obvious. First, Far Right propaganda appeals to the fantasy imagination and to the emotions. Second, supporting the Far Right is a decision often made by digitally-networked 15-25 year olds looking for answers and wanting to express their anger. However, many later become aware of a yawning gulf between the ideal future they envisioned, and what happens in the here and now. Accounts of the Far Right often focus on terrorist events, plots or extreme acts of violence. However, the emphasis here is on rather ordinary young people and how they get involved in a social movement that promises adventure and belonging. The aim is to better understand how their hate practices are framed and channeled by the persuasive discourse of the Far Right.

This book explores different aspects of LA-ICP-MS (laser ablation-inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometry). It presents a large array of new analytical protocols for elemental or isotope analysis. LA-ICP-MS is a powerful tool that combines a sampling device able to remove very small quantities of material without leaving visible damage at the surface of an object. Furthermore, it functions as a sensitive analytical instrument that measures, within a few seconds, a wide range of isotopes in inorganic samples. Determining the elemental or the isotopic composition of ancient material is essential to address questions related to ancient technology or provenance and therefore aids archaeologists in reconstructing exchange networks for goods, people and ideas. Recent improvements of LA-ICP-MS have opened new avenues of research that are explored in this volume.
