“Magic” “doesn’t just occur in make-believe worlds or in the mind's eye. Some works in this book included magic of the authors’ mind in their writing. This book was composed of various pieces of wonderful writing that were poured into words by certain gifted authors. These short stories are the outcome of the writers' arrangement of their thoughts into a narrative and a twist for a semester project. Each and every author in this book presented their thoughts and stories related to a subject they like.
ICISPE 2021
We proudly present the proceedings of 6th International Conference on Social and Political Enquiries 2021 (ICISPE 2021) with the main theme The Politics of Pandemics: Governing Social and Communal Resilience in Times of Crises. It focuses on the relation of policy and global network, regional integration, pandemics regulation, human security, and local government. These issues are important today, not only globally, but also Indonesia nationally to the local level. There are several important issues relating to this, both institutionally and the relationships between individuals and groups in supporting the agenda in managing the pandemics. More than 130 manuscripts were presented at this conference; around 60 of which are selected to be published in proceedings. We hope by this conference, discussions on the importance of sustainable development will increasingly become an important concern together and bring better response from the government and social relations for development.
Electoral Dynamics in Indonesia
How do politicians win elected office in Indonesia? To find out, research teams fanned out across the country prior to Indonesia’s 2014 legislative election to record campaign events, interview candidates and canvassers, and observe their interactions with voters. They found that at the grassroots political parties are less important than personal campaign teams and vote brokers who reach out to voters through a wide range of networks associated with religion, ethnicity, kinship, micro enterprises, sports clubs and voluntary groups of all sorts. Above all, candidates distribute patronage—cash, goods and other material benefits—to individual voters and to communities. Electoral Dynamics in Indonesia brings to light the scale and complexity of vote buying and the many uncertainties involved in this style of politics, providing an unusually intimate portrait of politics in a patronage-based system.

Asian populations are among some of the fastest growing cultural groups in the US. While books on serving other target groups in libraries have been published (e.g., disabled, Latino, seniors, etc.), few books on serving library users of Asian heritage have been written.
