Das vorliegende Trauregister umfasst 4927 Traueinträge aus den evangelischen Kirchenbüchern des ehemaligen hessischen Amtes Friedewald einschließlich des Gerichts Heringen (welches auch als Unteramt bezeichnet wurde) z.T. von 1585 - 1830 und bietet damit Familienforschern eine ideale Basis, die Herkunft einer Familie zu erforschen. Die dokumentierten Trauungen wurden nicht nur aus den Kirchenbüchern übertragen, vielmehr wurden unvollständige Angaben ergänzt und erkannte fehlerhafte Eintragungen korrigiert. Friedewald und Heringen liegen im Landkreis Hersfeld-Rotenburg im Norden von Osthessen.
