This book is a collection of original papers produced by the members of the Euro Working Group on Transportation (EWGT) in the last several years (2015–2017). The respective chapters present the results of various research projects carried out by the members of the EWGT and extended versions of presentations given at the last several meetings of the EWGT. The book offers a representative sampling of the EWGT’s research activities and covers the state-of-the-art in quantitative oriented transportation/logistics research. Zaprezentowano w niej oryginalne propozycje metod i narzędzi wspomagających formułowanie i realizowanie strategii logistycznej miasta. Książka ma charakter teoretyczno-poznawczo-aplikacyjny. Wyniki badań przeprowadzonych w wybranych stolicach państw Unii Europejskiej oraz opracowane metody i narzędzia mogą być użyteczne w procesie kształcenia specjalistów, którzy podejmą się wyzwań stawianych logistyce miejskiej. Mogą być również wykorzystywane przez samorządy lokalne podczas formułowania i realizowania strategii logistycznej.
This is to summarise current new developments in public transport and, with the concept of public mobility, to outline the concrete idea of a sustainable public transport system. In addition to the new mobility services and the political and legal framework conditions, new instruments are presented with which public mobility can be actively shaped in the future. The concept of public mobility ties in with the claim of public transport and shows how mobility can be offered to all citizens in an economically efficient, ecologically compatible and socially just manner under the changed social framework conditions.
