Terrestrial Isopod Biology
This text contains the papers of a meeting on American isopods, the only crustacean group with representatives in all terrestrial ecosystems ranging from the sea shore to the desert. Due to such adaptibility, this group can be seen as a model for the successful transition on land. The text deals with two main subjects: the effects of stressful conditions on the individual animal as reflected by its survival or by the disruption of its normal reproductive pattern; and the distribution of the isopods and their selection of microhabitat.
Geomorfološka dedišèina v Dolini Triglavskih jezer
Monografija se osredotoča na reliefno analizo Doline Triglavskih jezer in naravovarstveno vrednotenje reliefnih oblik. Osrednji del raziskave je sestavljen iz reliefne analize in vrednotenja reliefa. Zaradi drobljenja reliefnih oblik, njihove zelo različne velikosti in večjega naravovarstvenega pomena območij z veliko gostoto in raznovrstnostjo oblik, je relief ovrednoten po 17 enovitih geomorfoloških enotah. Uporabljena je švicarska metoda, ki jo sestavljajo osrednja oziroma znanstvena merila vrednotenja (redkost, tipičnost, celovitost, paleogeografska vrednost), dopolnjena z dodatnimi merili (ekološka, estetska, kulturna, ekonomska vrednost). Rezultat reliefne analize in vrednotenja geomorfoloških enot je kartografski, tabelarični, slikovni in opisni prikaz območij geomorfološke dediščine v Dolini Triglavskih jezer. Podana sta predloga podelitve statusa naravne vrednote in zavarovanja.
Krajinski park Tivoli, Rožnik in Šišenski hrib
Med zelenimi površinami v Ljubljani ima posebno mesto območje Tivolija, Rožnika in Šišenskega hriba, ki se razteza zahodno od središča mesta. Leta 1984 je bilo z odlokom razglašeno za krajinski park. V odloku, ki je že zastarel, je posebej izpostavljeno, da park soustvarja identiteto mesta Ljubljane, kjer naravne in kulturne prvine sestavljajo enotno pokrajinsko podobo. Najšibkejši člen odloka je upravljanje s krajinskim parkom, saj kljub varstvenemu režimu ne določa ne njegovega upravljavca ne kaj se sme početi v njem in na kakšen način. Območje krajinskega parka sestavljajo parkovni del Tivoli, osrednji gozdni del ter zeleni pas ob Poti (nekdanja Pot spominov in tovarištva) na zahodu. Podani so predlogi za upravljanje in razvoj krajinskega parka, v sklopu katerih so nakazane možnosti širitve različnih že obstoječih dejavnosti.

The Northern Adriatic Ecosystem
The northern Adriatic Sea is transient, most recently flooded between 18,000 to 6,000 years ago following the last glacial maximum, and it will drain again with the onset of the next glacial period. Despite its youth, uniformly shallow depth, and flat sediment floor, it hosts a broad range of bottom-dwelling sea life ecologically resembling communities that have existed in the shallow sea since the Ordovician Period, some 500 million years ago.
