The focus of this Special Issue is aimed at enhancing the discussion of Engineering Education, particularly related to technological and professional learning. La red CYTED RIMSGES, del área de Energía, comenzó su andadura en el año 2021 como una red de personal docente e investigador de universidades y centros tecnológicos de seis países (España, Portugal, Colombia, Chile, Panamá y Ecuador) con la motivación de compartir conocimiento y encontrar sinergias para diseñar actividades formativas y materiales de difusión en el contexto de la gestión sostenible de sistemas energéticos. Esta gestión se diseñó como una gestión integral desde los sistemas productivos energéticos, pasando por el transporte y distribución, hasta llegar al usuario final. Entre los intereses de la red, se incluyen también la gestión de consumos y mejora en la eficiencia energética de instalaciones, procesos y servicios, y la toma de medidas que permitan avanzar en la implementación de sistemas de autoconsumo y modalidades de producción innovadoras y eficientes, como las islas energéticas.
