La pérdida de un hijo durante la gestación o pocos días después del nacimiento es una experiencia traumática y devastadora para los padres. Actualmente, la muerte sigue siendo un tema tabú y a menudo los profesionales sanitarios encuentran dificultoso prestar atención y cuidados a unos padres cuyo bebé acaba de fallecer. Este libro, bajo el marco de una investigación cualitativa de carácter fenomenológico, muestra las experiencias de los padres que han sufrido una muerte perinatal referente a la asistencia sanitaria, las consecuencias físicas y psicológicas, el apoyo recibido, el impacto provocado en su contexto social y familiar y en su sexualidad. El último capítulo muestra la experiencias de las mujeres sobre el manejo de la lactancia materna tras el duelo perinatal, un tema también olvidado por muchos profesionales sanitarios.
