Bencana alam di permukaan bumi ini seperti bencana gempa bumi, bencana banjir, bencana longsor termasuk faktor utama yang harus diperhitungkan dalam rekayasa konstruksi untuk menjaminkan pemenuhan kebutuhan konstruksi dan keamanan konstruksi yang akan dirasakan manusia. Problem kehidupan manusia yang disebabkan oleh kebutuhan hidup dan masalah bencana alam sangat membutuhkan analisis mekanika dalam melahirkan teknik bangunan dengan teknologi bahan bangunan yang tepat, memiliki kekuatan (strength), kekakuan (stiffness) dan stabilitas (stability) pada sistem strukturnya.

Konstruksi sumur resapan merupakan usaha untuk membantu pengisian air tanah yang relatif sudah susah. Proses ini menjadi penting jika sebagian besar wilayah penyerapan air hujan ke tanah tidak ada atau kedap air.Sehingga Konstruksi sumur resapan sangat penting menjaga atau memperbaiki kualitas dan kuantitas air tanah yang semakin berkurang.
