Maria Eichhorn: Film Lexicon of Sexual Practices / Prohibited Imports
The publication focuses on two of Eichhorn?s open-ended projects, which both have the representation and regulation of sexual imagery as their theme. ?Prohibited Imports? (2003/08 and 2015) now includes four books censored by Japanese customs and ?Film Lexicon of Sexual Practices ? (1999/2005/2008/2014/2015) currently consists of twenty films. The essays engage the critical dimension of these compelling works.

Historisch sind alle sechzehn Werke, die die Künstlerin für diese Untersuschung heranzieht, davon "belastet", dass sie bereits unter dem Verdacht gestanden haben oder immer noch stehen, durch die Nationalsozialisten von ihren Eigentümern unrechtmässig entzogen, sogenannte Raubkunst zu sein.

The Artist's Contract
This publication is part of Maria Eichhorn's project The Artist's Contract. From 1996 to 2005 Eichhorn conducted interviews with artists, art dealers, and the authors of The Artist's Reserved Rights Transfer and Sale Agreement. The Agreement, which Eichhorn takes as her point of departure for the interviews, was written in 1971 by Seth Siegelaub, well-known as the organizer of early conceptual art exhibitions in the late 1960s, together with the lawyer Robert Projansky. The interviews deal with issues related to the social and historical context of conceptual art, the sale and resale of artworks, art as an object of speculation, the role of collectors and museums, and artists' rights. Included are interviews with Carl Andre, Michael Asher, Daniel Buren, Paula Cooper, Hans Haacke, Jenny Holzer, Adrian Piper, Robert Projansky, Robert Ryman, Seth Siegelaub, John Weber, Lawrence Weiner, Jackie Winsor edited by Gert Fietzek. Featuring the work of seven international artists; Anne Collier, Maria Eichhorn, Mark Leckey, Hilary Lloyd, Henrik Olesen, Seth Price and Hito Steyerl. Curated by Polly Staple. Published to accompany an exhibition of the same name at the ICA. The show looks at artists who deconstruct and re-mix found images, investing them with personal narratives and using them to explore the contemporary landscape of information and image distribution. This book begins with an introduction by Polly Staple; continues with texts on the exhibiting artists, including texts by the artists or chosen by them; and concludes with a section of contextual material that is more strictly thematic in nature, including texts that address network culture, the philosophy of gesture, and the relation between sexuality and sight.
