Translation and Circulation of Migration Literature
In the field of Translation Studies no book-length work in English has yet been dedicated to the translation and circulation of migration literature. The authors of this volume seek to contribute to filling this gap through a detailed study of texts belonging to a variety of literary genres and engaging with the phenomenon of migration in different parts of the world. Not only will the challenges met by translators be discussed, but the different ways in which the translated texts travel from one cultural sphere to another will also be explored. The focus lies on the themes “migration and politics”, “migration and society”, as well as “the experience of migration in words, music and images”.

Comics und Intersektionalität
Intersektionalität ist eine disziplinenübergreifende analytische Perspektive, mit deren Hilfe sowohl die Konstitution und Verschränkung identitätslogischer Kategorien als auch multiple Formen der Diskriminierung und normativen Klassifizierung betrachtet werden. Intersektionalität steht in enger Beziehung zu den Gender-, Queer- oder auch Dis/Ability und Postcolonial Studies. Die Auseinandersetzung mit der 'sequenziellen Kunst' aus intersektionaler Perspektive ist ein Desiderat der Comicforschung. Wie der Band zeigen soll, eignen sich Comics aufgrund ihrer medialen Beschaffenheit besonders gut, alternative Lebenswege aufzuzeigen und das 'sichtbar' zu machen, was sich außerhalb des hegemonialen Diskurses befindet. Mit dem Band soll das Potenzial eines intersektionalen Ansatzes für die Comicforschung herausgestellt werden. Dabei steht die Verzahnung verschiedener Differenzachsen wie Gender, Sexualität, Alter, Klasse, Nationalität, Dis/Ability und 'Rasse', sowie die Analyse der mit diesem Wechselspiel einhergehenden hierarchischen Machtverhältnisse im Medium Comic, aber auch im Kontext seiner Produktion und Rezeption im Mittelpunkt der Auseinandersetzung.
Kant’s Theory of Value
In explicit form, Kant does not speak that much about values or goods. The reason for this is obvious: the concepts of ‘values’ and ‘goods’ are part of the eudaimonistic tradition, and he famously criticizes eudaimonism for its flawed ‘material’ approach to ethics. But he uses, on several occasions, the traditional teleological language of goods and values. Especially in the Groundwork and the Critique of Practical Reason, Kant develops crucial points on this conceptual basis. Furthermore, he implicitly discusses issues of conditional and unconditional values, subjective and objective values, aesthetic or economic values etc. In recent Kant scholarship, there has been a controversy on the question how moral and nonmoral values are related in Kant’s account of human dignity. This leads to the more fundamental problem if Kant should be seen as a prescriptvist (antirealist) or as subscribing to a more objective rational agency account of goods. This issue and several further questions are addressed in this volume.
