The Balkans: A View of Demography and Economics History
Not only military and political power, but also social and economic innovations came to the Balkans with Ottoman Empire. The immigration of Turkish people from Anatolia into the conquered lands was one of the Ottoman Empire strategies in the Balkans. The first planned settlement policies were implemented to support the conquests in the Balkans especially during the establishment and development periods. The developments in 18th century caused social and economics dislocation in the Balkans and the Ottoman Empire in several ways. There are 7 chapter texts in this book. They are about the Balkan demographic and economic structure of the Ottoman Empire period.

In the series of the monographs under the title “The Balkans” (publisher Livre de Lyon, Lyon, France), one volume has been dedicated to the everyday life and culture. This volume consists of four chapters examining the various phenomena in everyday life in the Balkans during the Ottoman era or phenomena still existing in the modern Balkan societies, as a result of the Oriental - Ottoman heritage in this region. Islam, Liberalism, and Ontology
This book offers comparative ontologies of both Islam and liberalism as discourses more broadly construed. The author argues that, despite recent efforts to speak of overlapping consensuses and discursive congruence, the fundamental categories that constitute "Islam" and "Liberalism" remain very different, and that these differences should be taken seriously. Thus far, no recent scholarly works have explicitly or meticulously broken down where these differences lie. The author rigorously explores questions related to rights, moral epistemologies, the role of religion in the public sphere, and more general approaches to legal discourse, via primary and canonical sources constitutive of both Islam and liberalism. He then goes on to articulate why communitarian modes of thought are better suited for engaging with Islam and contemporary socio-political modes of organization than liberalism is. This book will be of great interest to students and scholars of politics and international relations, Islam, liberalism, and communitarianism.
