This book is devoted to medieval Iberian women, readers and writers. Focusing on the stories and texts women heard, visually experienced or read, and the stories that they rewrote, the work explores women’s experiences and cultural practices and their efforts to make sense of their place within their familial networks and communities. The study is based on two methodological and interpretive threads: a new paradigm to represent premodern reading and, a study of women’s writing, or, more precisely, women’s textualities, as a process of creating words but also acts, social practices, emotions and, ultimately, affectus, understood here as the embodiment of the ability to affect and be affected.

Lo Somni (The Dream) is a dream allegory divided into four chapters or books. It was written ca. 1399 and is considered Bernat Metge’s best work. It is extremely innovative within the context of Catalan (and Iberian Peninsular) literature of the 1300’s. It consists of a dialogue between Metge-the-character and several participants (in fact the book is a dialogue between Metge and the Classical and Biblical tradition) on the topics of the immortality of the soul, the essence of religion and the dignity and moral essence of the human being. This edited book explores and illustrates successful practices for online assessment and community-building, based on the authors' own classroom practice during and in the immediate aftermath of the pandemic. The authors argue that what has happened during the coronavirus pandemic has fundamentally changed perspectives on language education, and that if the importance of using online teaching tools in the classroom was dimly understood before the crisis, the language teaching establishment has now fully realized their potential and must continue exploring this further, even as the option to return to in-person teaching becomes widespread. Ranging from online activities to course design, the volume presents a comprehensive outlook at distance learning in modern foreign languages. It does so by focusing on those two aspects that, within an emergency scenario, have proven most challenging, namely: how to assess students in a non-controlled environment and how to foster a sense of community from the confinement of our isolated learning spaces. This book will be of interest to academics and practitioners in Language Education, as well as teachers and teacher trainees.
Teza prezentei lucrări poate fi rezumată ı̂ntr-o singură frază: en/decasilabul franco-italic și pentametrul englez pot fi descriși ca trimetri iambici dodecasilabici, a căror structură provine din trimetrul ritmic latin și se conservă ı̂n condițiile idiomatice ale limbilor de adopție. Teza este, asadar, dublă, comportând un aspect sincronic și un altul diacronic. Lucrarea inovează ı̂n măsura ı̂n care ı̂și asumă urmărirea si argumentarea unei ipoteze pe care Gian Giorgio Trissino a pledat-o defectuos, ı̂n Cinquecento, și pe care Mihai Dinu, ı̂n secolul nostru, a lăsat-o nedemonstrată.
La qualitat literària de l’obra de Ramon Llull, d’una originalitat excepcional, és indiscutible. Ja al segle XIII la producció de l’escriptor mallorquí va circular per camins propis, al marge del corrent cultural predominant, de manera que ell mateix va acabar constituint la seva pròpia tradició per la singularitat de la seva literatura i el seu pensament. De fet, apropar-se a Llull representa descobrir un continent literari d’una riquesa inusual, obra d’un autor d’una personalitat inigualable que va crear, en un català sorprenentment madur per l’època, alguns dels títols més remarcables de l’edat mitjana europea. Llegir Ramon Llull ofereix les claus per comprendre la seva aportació a la història de la literatura, que ha pervingut en poetes contemporanis tan dispars com Jacint Verdaguer i Josep Palau i Fabre, i ens permet gaudir de la lectura dels fragments més representatius de la seva obra.
Con el presente libro intentamos recuperar el texto en el marco de la enseñanza a distancia de la UNED. Lo hacemos centrando el objetivo de estudio en el comentario de fragmentos textuales suficientemente representativos de los momentos y períodos propios de la literatura catalana ¿en nuestro caso, de la medieval-. Y lo hacemos apoyando esa lectura con los mejores estudios literarios del momento, y orientándola y guiándola de la mano de quienes, con una generosidad encomiable, nos han querido acompañar en esta nueva aventura docente: Josep Antoni Aguilar (UCV), Marion Coderch (UB), Joan Miquel Ribera (UCM), Lluís Ramon (UCV), Isabel de Riquer (UB).
