La Fine Del Mondo by Marco Fusinato, Felicity D. Scott and Mark Wasiuta
La fine del mondo has been produced by Marco Fusinato, Felicity D. Scott and Mark Wasiuta on the occasion of their contribution to the section Monditalia at the 14th International Architecture Exhibition of la Biennale di Venezia, June 7 to November 23, 2014. Their installation, also titled La fine del mondo, is comprised of this print document along with sensor-triggered audio-visual components depicting related records from Turin's Piper Club and three Milanese centri sociali: Leoncavallo, Cox18, and Virus. The images and archival documents presented herein have been prepared with the assistance of, and in collaboration with, Andrea Membretti, Pietro Derossi, Elena Hileg Iannuzzi, and Marco Philopat.

The project investigates the relationship between architecture and collecting, considering architecture both as an agent that organizes, supports, and informs various contemporary collecting practices, and as an object of collection in its own right. The Phase One Report catalogs the first year of research, the Athens Minutes conference, and the eponymous exhibition held at Deste from June 20 to October 20, 2012. In tandem with GSAPP, a group from the Department of Architecture at the University of Thessaly was invited to exhibit their own research developed in parallel with the project's theme."--Slipcase.

Made in Italy
Goods made or designed in Italy enjoy a profile which far outstrips the country's modest manufacturing output. Italy's glorious design heritage and reputation for style and innovation has 'added value' to products made in Italy. Since 1945, Italian design has commanded an increasing amount of attention from design journalists, critics and consumers. But is Italian design a victim of its own celebrity? Made in Italy brings together leading design historians to explore this question, discussing both the history and significance of design from Italy and its international influence. Addressing a wide range of Italian design fields, including car design, graphic design, industrial and interior design and ceramics, well-known designers such as Alberto Rosselli and Ettore Sottsass, Jr. and iconic brands such as Olivetti, Vespa and Alessi, the book explores the historical, cultural and social influences that shaped Italian design, and how these iconic designs have contributed to the modern canon of Italian-inspired goods.
Documentary Remains
It has been polemically argued that the most important aesthetic productions of the twentieth century have not been objects, buildings, or spaces, but exhibitions. There is a curious imbalance, however, between the centrality claimed for exhibitions and their fugitive character--exhibitions collect artifacts, exist briefly, and are then dispersed. Documentary Remains explores what we know of exhibitions through questioning archives, records, documents, and other forms of remains. With exhibition research and curatorial practices gaining increasing prominence as a mode of conceptual and historical thought, this edited volume (based on a conference hosted by Columbia University's Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation) revisits the stakes of exhibitions as they have developed across the history of architectural modernism as well as their current position within the field.

Proof
Proof is the ninth in an annual series of publications that features the best young practicing architects as selected by the Architectural League of New York in their annual Young Architects competition. Competition entrants wereasked to use the theme "proof" to frame their portfolios and critically evaluate their work. This required creating projectsthat acknowledge architectural design as a unique process that begins with a speculation and gains traction through the subsequent testing, confirming, checking, and rechecking that occurs before and after designs encounter the real world. Eachof the winners—Aranda/Lasch, Jinhee Park, ludens, PARA, PRODUCTORA, and Uni Architecture—confronted this year's theme with work that is original, and inspiring.
