Archäologische Denkmalpflege zur NS-Zeit in Österreich
Die Autorin analysiert die Institutionengeschichte einer kleinen Verwaltungseinheit, deren Abteilungsleiter als Mitglied der Lehr- und Forschungsgemeinschaft »Das Ahnenerbe« und des Persönlichen Stabes des Reichsführers SS Heinrich Himmler in ein Netzwerk eingebunden war, das die Hegemonie des Deutschen Reichs mit wissenschaftlichen Argumenten absichern wollte. Am Beispiel der Abteilung für Vor- und Frühgeschichte des heutigen Bundesdenkmalamtes werden auch all jene Auswirkungen fassbar, die den österreichischen Altertumswissenschaften in Österreich aus dem »Anschluss« 1938 an Hitlerdeutschland und dem Geschehen des 2.
