Eckard Rolf zeigt in diesem Buch in welchen Theoriekontexten der Symbolbegriff in Anspruch genommen wird. Um größte Genauigkeit zu gewährleisten, wird Wert darauf gelegt, die einzelnen Symboltheoretiker soweit wie möglich selbst zu Wort kommen zu lassen. Es werden 38 Symboltheorien erfasst, die sechs Gruppen zugeordnet sind: dem sprachtheoretischen, dem erkenntnistheoretischen, dem kunsttheoretischen, dem zeichentheoretischen, dem bewusstseinstheoretischen und dem gesellschaftstheoretischen Kontext. Die wenigen vergleichbaren Veröffentlichungen zum Thema sind entweder literaturwissenschaftlich, soziologisch oder theologisch-philosophisch ausgerichtet. Eine in Umfang und interdisziplinärer Ausrichtung vergleichbare Veröffentlichung zu Symboltheorien gibt es bisher nicht.

Can children theologize without substantial requirements? Initially, the movement of child theology accentuated children’s original theological creativity. But in the last years, several authors point out that children need theological food in order to originally theologize. One of the most appropriate medium are children’s books. This volume presents the lectures of the international symposium “Children’s books: Nurture for children’s theology”. Proven experts demonstrate empirically studied strategies in order to stimulate children’s theological reasoning, be it about God, Jesus as the savior, death, the soul, Christmas and many other theological topics more. Machtmissbrauch und Gewalt – religiöse Versuchung und Versagen der Kirche
"Bei euch soll es nicht so sein" verlangt Jesus (Lk 22,28) – nicht so wie bei denen, die andere klein machen und benutzen, um selbst groß zu sein. Tatsächlich ist die Kirche in vieler Hinsicht weit davon entfernt, die "Kontrastgesellschaft" zu sein, die Jesus sich gewünscht hat und für die er Vorbild ist. Die Aufdeckung von sexuellem Missbrauch und seiner Vertuschung über Jahrzehnte hin hat zu einer sensibleren und be-wussteren Wahrnehmung von Machtmissbrauch in der Kirche beigetragen. Stichworte sind Klerikalismus und Intransparenz, die Verschleppung der "Frauenfrage" oder übergriffige Prak-tiken in Seelsorge und geistlicher Begleitung von Menschen.
