Novel Mathematics Inspired by Industrial Challenges
This contributed volume convenes a rich selection of works with a focus on innovative mathematical methods with applications in real-world, industrial problems. Studies included in this book are all motivated by a relevant industrial challenge, and demonstrate that mathematics for industry can be extremely rewarding, leading to new mathematical methods and sometimes even to entirely new fields within mathematics. The book is organized into two parts: Computational Sciences and Engineering, and Data Analysis and Finance. In every chapter, readers will find a brief description of why such work fits into this volume; an explanation on which industrial challenges have been instrumental for their inspiration; and which methods have been developed as a result. All these contribute to a greater unity of the text, benefiting not only practitioners and professionals seeking information on novel techniques but also graduate students in applied mathematics, engineering, and related fields.
Book of Abstracts XXXII Conference Expert Group Meeting on Organometallic Chemistry
The first meeting dedicated to the organometallic chemistry in Spain took place during the eighties, when 40 scientists from our country shared their experiences around this genuine discipline. The first GEQO meeting was held in Alcalá de Henares on June 12, 1981. It was decided to continue with this adventure, and only one year later they met again at the Bienal of Chemistry in Santander, in September 1982. Then, in 1983 it was Tarragona’s turn to takeover, and convert this Meeting into an exciting experience. Three decades later, and casually during the meeting of the Spanish organometallic group in the Bienal of Santander 2013, we announced that the next GEQO-meeting will take place in Tarragona, between September 17-19, 2014. Despite the changes in the host city and its people, one thing still remains the same: the enthusiasm with which this event is being organized and its projection to everyone who sees in organometallic chemistry… a way of thinking in chemistry.

Topics In Enantioselective Catalysis: Recent Achievements And Future Challenges
This book illustrates the broad field of enantioselective catalysis by highlighting a few topics, out of myriads, with the double aim to typify selected synthetic achievements and future challenges. Eleven research groups have highlighted topics of interest in either organo- or organometallic catalysis, related to their own expertise. For mature fields, these short chapters, far from being exhaustive, show updated overviews including major recent advances and disclose a few prospects. Mathematical Models and Numerical Simulation in Electromagnetism
The book represents a basic support for a master course in electromagnetism oriented to numerical simulation. The main goal of the book is that the reader knows the boundary-value problems of partial differential equations that should be solved in order to perform computer simulation of electromagnetic processes.
