Se presenta una metodología de trabajo, con rigurosidad técnica y de método, teniendo en cuenta tanto las condiciones del entorno colombiano como la integración de diversas disciplinas (Geografía, Geofísica, Geología, Minería y Petroleología) lo que ha derivado en una mayor construcción e integración de conocimientos.En Colombia se ha difundido una gran cantidad de información en el área de la Geofísica, especialmente en Prospección Sísmica de Reflexión, es allí donde la implementación de esta metodología pretende brindar herramientas y procedimientos para una mejor toma de decisiones en el diseño y trazado sísmico. No obstante, queda abierta la posibilidad de ser complementada y perfeccionada a través de la integración de otras variables, con mayor detalle y procesos de evaluación más complejos.
