Author's biography from his early days on the family farm in southeast Nebraska, through service in the U.S. Air Force, gunsmithing school at Trinidad Junior College in Colorado, work as a gunsmith for seven years, earning a BS and MS in geological engineering from the University of Idaho, work for Harza Enginering, for the U.S. Bureau of Mines, plus many years of mountain climbing, big game hunting, and adventures. He lives in Wyoming after retirement.

The parents of Robert Leroy Wiegand are Roy Elmer Wiegand (1905-1984) and Margaret Elizabeth McGregor (1902-1985). Most of the immigrant ancestors were German. After immigrating in the 1800s they settled in Kittanning Township in Armstrong County, Pennsylvania.
The Family Record of Johannes & Barbara (Kaufman) Ramseyer, 1780-2002
Johannes Ramseyer was born 3 April 1780 in Mancenans, France. His parents were Isaak Ramseyer and Anna Augsburger. He married Barbara Kaufman (1780-1844) 30 May 1800 in Alsace, France. They had ten children. They emigrated in 1834 and settled in Ohio. He died 4 July 1853. Ancestors, descendants and relatives lived mainly in Ohio, Indiana, Michigan and Kansas.
