Johannes Gingerich was born 31 December 1781 in Germany. On 10 April 1811 he married Cathrian Schlabaugh who was born 19 April, 1791 also in Germany. "Johannes and Cathrian and all their children were born in Germany. Johanan [sic] died Aug. 23 1854. Cathrian died March 13, 1848. They are both buried in Ohio on the farm owned by his son, Christian Gingerich, now owned by Dan J. Troyer, of Baltic, Ohio." Descendants lived in Ohio, Iowa, Indiana, Michigan, Colorado, Illinois, Delaware, North Dakota, Wisconsin, Minnesota and elsewhere.

Jacob Guengerich (or Gingerich) was born 3 August 1811 in Germany. He was the son of J. Guengerich and Barbara Schlabach. Jacob immigrated to the United States ca. 1831 and settled in the Amish community of Somerset Co., Pennsylvania. He married Barbara Miller who was the daughter of Benedict Miller and Catherine Beachy. Jacob and Barbara were the parents of sixteen children. Descendants lived in Ohio, Pennsylvania, Illinois, Indiana, Missouri, Iowa and elsewhere.
Peter Eichar was born about 1742 in Eichstadt, Bavaria, Germany and immigrated to Pennsylvania. He married Nancy Smith about 1770, and died in 1819 in Greensburg, Pennsylvania. Descendants lived in Pennsylvania, Ohio, Virginia, Alabama, Iowa, New Mexico, California, Utah, Minnesota, Colorado, Michigan, Indiana, Canada and elsewhere.
