This book shows how authors in nineteenth-century Britain used the materials of writing (and of reading, drawing, and handicraft) for inspiration and creative composition. In doing so, it reshapes the sensory history of working on and with paper. Cochlear Nonlinearity
A thesis about nonlinearity in the cochlea. Outer Hair Cells in the Organ of Corti amplify sound waves in a nonlinear way. For instance, they produce combination tones that do not exist in the original sound wave.
