Mechanics of Solid Interfaces
The growing occurrence of heterogeneous materials such as composites or coated substrates in structural parts makes it necessary for designers and scientists to deal with the specific features of the mechanical behavior of solid interfaces. This book introduces basic concepts on mechanical problems related to the presence of solid/solid interfaces and their practical applications. The various topics discussed here are the mechanical characterization of interfaces, the initiation and growth of cracks along interfaces, the origin and control of interface adhesion, focusing in particular on thin films on substrate systems. It is designed and structured to provide a solid background in the mechanics of heterogeneous materials to help students in materials science, as well as scientists and engineers.

Ce recueil comprend quarante-et-un récits écrits dans deux variétés gallo-romanes de Creuse, proches mais néanmoins distinctes : l’occitan haut-limousin de Saint-Pierre-Chérignat et le marchois méridional de Fursac, par deux locuteurs natifs de ces parlers. Ces textes présentent un grand intérêt, puisqu’ils permettent de mettre en contraste les deux variétés afin d’en faire ressortir les similitudes et les différences, notamment en matière de phonologie, conjugaison, syntaxe, etc. En outre, ce recueil présente un intérêt patrimonial, car il s’agit d’un corpus conséquent rédigé par des locuteurs natifs, dans des parlers aujourd’hui menacés de disparition. L’ouvrage présente également un intérêt littéraire et peut ainsi être mis en perspective avec les œuvres issues de la littérature de terroir, mais aussi avec la littérature en occitan limousin. New Autonomous Systems
The idea of autonomous systems that are able to make choices according to properties which allow them to experience, apprehend and assess their environment is becoming a reality. These systems are capable of auto-configuration and self-organization. This book presents a model for the creation of autonomous systems based on a complex substratum, made up of multiple electronic components that deploy a variety of specific features. This substratum consists of multi-agent systems which act continuously and autonomously to collect information from the environment which they then feed into the global system, allowing it to generate discerning and concrete representations of its surroundings. These systems are able to construct a so-called artificial corporeity which allows them to have a sense of self, to then behave autonomously, in a way reminiscent of living organisms.
