An archeologist unearths an ancient manuscript, buried in the ruins of the Galilean town of Capernaum. It turns out to have been written by the Roman officer (the centurion of the title) whose servant Jesus had healed. The centurion, upon retirement and fascinated by Jesus's apparent power, researches all he can learn about the itinerant Jewish preacher. He interviews all who knew him and collects their writings, eventually composing the now rediscovered manuscript. Upon the centurion's death, his son buries the work in a sealed container to protect it from the rampaging Roman soldiers, who have just razed Jerusalem and destroyed the temple in 70 CE. There the manuscript lies until found by one Noah Leipzig, PhD, circa 196aEUR".

Roman Centurion Gaius Julius Comminus struggles to fulfill his duty against a madman who haunts the roads of Zion, bent on the murder and plunder of Roman citizens. Complicating the investigation is the political intrigue of the times spawned by the ministry of a young rabbi from Nazareth.
The carpenter of Nazareth becomes the teacher and healer of Capernaum. But how do ordinary folks perceive the young rabbi? Amos, the baker of the village, struggles to reconcile his old ideas about the Messiah with the image of his new friend Yeshua, hailed by some as the Son of God. Soon a devastating loss makes Amos world crumble. Judas Iscariot and the butcher, Barabbas, are among the suspects. Comforted by Yeshua, Amos airs the question that many have uttered in despair: Why are nasty burdens laid upon nice people? In his search for answers, the abduction of Amos friend, Mary Magdalene, brings them in contact with Bedouins in the Negev. They discover that these nomads, too, search for clarity about the Messiah. At the Hanukkah feast, the Great One stuns Jews and Arabs alike with new perspectives on the first and second coming of the Messiah. Amos soon witnesses how the worst is laid upon the best at the Place of the Skull. This seemingly tragic end of a good life spawns astounding blessings for Amos, his friends, and even his former enemies."
Agri-food production remains vital to the economies in Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC). Food systems are rapidly changing and are driven by income growth, (urban) population growth, shifts in dietary preferences, and agricultural productivity growth. Food systems are also under threat from disrupters like climate change and distorting policies (including trade wars). This paper makes two quantitative, forward-looking assessments for the future of food and agriculture in the LAC region. The first focuses on the long-term prospects - given projected pathways for the main drivers and under the threat of climate change. The second focuses on current vulnerability of LACs agri-food system t...
