Excavations at Haft Tepe, Iran
The ancient remains at Haft Tepe (the ancient name of the site is unknown) lie on the plain of Khuzistan in southwestern Iran close to the ruins of ancient Susa. Excavations under the directorship of Ezat Negahban and under the auspices of the Iranian Ministry of Culture and Art were conducted from 1969 through 1979. The Small Players of the Great Game
This book deals with the 19th century Anglo-Russian Great Game played out on the territorial chessboard of eastern and north-eastern parts of the waning Persian empire. The Great Game itself has been written about extensively, but never from a Persian angle and from the point of view of the local players in that game.
