Reinhard Lauer (1935), seit 1969 Ordinarius fur Slavische Philologie/Literaturwissenschaft an der Georg-August-Universitat Gottingen, hat sich in Forschung und Lehre fast der gesamten Slavia gewidmet. Sein weitgespanntes wissenschaftliches Werk umfasst Arbeiten zu den sudslavischen (von der slovenischen bis zur bulgarischen), ostslavischen und westslavischen Literaturen, zu ubergreifenden Fragen und einzelnen Werken im wesentlichen des 18. bis 20. Jahrhunderts.
