This book presents the various types of coherent states introduced and studied in the physics and mathematics literature and describes their properties together with application to quantum physics problems. It is intended to serve as a compendium on coherent states and their applications for physicists and mathematicians, stretching from the basic mathematical structures of generalized coherent states in the sense of Perelomov via the semiclassical evolution of coherent states to various specific examples of coherent states (hydrogen atom, quantum oscillator, ...).
From the 18th to the 30th August 2003 , a NATO Advanced Study Institute (ASI) was held in Cargèse, Corsica, France. Cargèse is a nice small village situated by the mediterranean sea and the Institut d'Etudes Scientifiques de Cargese provides ? a traditional place to organize Theoretical Physics Summer Schools and Workshops * in a closed and well equiped place. This volume contains the proceedings of two conferences on Inverse Problems and Applications, held in 2012, to celebrate the work of Gunther Uhlmann. The first conference was held at the University of California, Irvine, from June 18-22, 2012, and the second was held at Zhejiang University, Hangzhou, China, from September 17-21, 2012. The conversos of late medieval and Golden Age Spain were Christians whose Jewish ancestors had been forced to change faiths within a society that developed a preoccupation with pure Christian lineage. The aims of this book is to shed new light on the cultural impact of this social climate, in which public suspicion of the religious sincerity of conversos became widespread and scrutiny by the Inquisition came to impede social advancement and threaten life and property. The bulk of the essays center on literary works, including lesser known and canonical pieces, which are analyzed by scholars who reveal the heterogeneous nature of textual voices that are informed by an awareness of the marginal status of conversos. Religious experience in the European Middle Ages represented an intersection of a range of aspects of existence, including everyday life, relations of power, and urban development, among others. As such, religion offered a reflection of many facets of life in this period. This volume contains the proceedings of the QMATH13: Mathematical Results in Quantum Physics conference, held from October 8–11, 2016, at the Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, Georgia. In recent years, a number of new frontiers have opened in mathematical physics, such as many-body localization and Schrödinger operators on graphs. There has been progress in developing mathematical techniques as well, notably in renormalization group methods and the use of Lieb–Robinson bounds in various quantum models. The aim of this volume is to provide an overview of some of these developments. Topics include random Schrödinger operators, many-body fermionic systems, atomic systems, effective equations, and applications to quantum field theory. A number of articles are devoted to the very active area of Schrödinger operators on graphs and general spectral theory of Schrödinger operators. Some of the articles are expository and can be read by an advanced graduate student.
