Scientists and engineers from industry, academia, and major research institutes from 19 countries contributed to the Vienna Conference on Human Computer Interaction (VCHCI '93). This volume contains the proceedings of the conference. Only submissions of the highest scientific quality were accepted as papers, and all contributions address the latest research and application in the human aspects of design and use of computing systems. The papers cover a large field of human computer interaction including design, evaluation, interactive architectures, cognitive models, workplace environment, and HCI application areas. The aim of IFIP Working Group 2.7 (13.4) for User Interface Engineering is to investigate the nature, concepts and construction of user interfaces for software systems.
