Proceedings of the 1st International Conference on Law, Social, and Political Science (ICSP 2023)
This is an open access book. The study program of Government Studies and Political Science has been playing significant roles in building best practices of good governance and political ethics through scientific research and community development and opening a space for academic discussion with the main concern “Social and Political Issues”. These activities are in line with the Universitas Jambi’s vision to be “a world-class entrepreneurship university” based on environment and agrotechnology. As part of the efforts to provide a space for academic dialogue at a global level, we organize an international conference that aims to develop scientific knowledge, build institutional capacity, and strengthen networking. This conference raises the issue of “The Emerging Technology & Digital Inclusive on Contemporary Social and Political Issues” to capture the phenomenon of social and political issues at local, national, and international levels. The selection of this topic is based on the vision and mission of study programs, faculty, as well as Universitas Jambi.

Exile was a potent form of punishment and a catalyst for change in colonial Asia between the seventeenth and early twentieth centuries. Vast networks of forced migration supplied laborers to emerging colonial settlements, while European powers banished rivals to faraway locations. This book brings together a wide range of case studies to explore the experiences and significance of women warriors in Southeast Asian history from ancient to contemporary times. Using a number of sources, including royal chronicles, diaries, memoirs and interviews, the book discusses why women warriors were active in a domain traditionally preserved for men, and how they arguably transgressed peacetime gender boundaries as agents of violence. We proudly present the proceedings of 2nd International Conference on Law, Economic and Governance 2021 (ICOLEG 2021). It focuses on how the wave of digitalization influences the ethics and law, especially in Law and Democracy, Law and Indigenous People, Law in Contemporary Issues, Law and Economics, Digital Economics, Good Governance etc. As we know, the world today is changing and the world we are facing now is the one where everything is connected. The contemporary social issues based on complex problems, complex interest, beyond borders and powers. More than 125 manuscripts from various countries were presented at this conference with around 66 of them selected to be published in proceedings. We hope by this conference, discussions on how research on Law, Economic and Government is possible in a disruptive era will give a perspective for the social and humanities studies development.
