Seminar Nasional ini diselenggarakan untuk mengembangkan wawasan mengenai pentingnya pengembangan metodologi penelitian khususnya di PGMI dan PIAUD. Pengetahuan akan metode penelitian menjadi syarat mutlak bagi mahasiswa maupun dosen dalam pelaksanaan penelitian dan penulisan karya ilmiah. Seminar ini juga memberikan kesempatan bagi para pemakalah yang berasal dari akademisi dan praktisi untuk mendiseminasikan hasil-hasil penelitian atau kajian kritis terhadap pengembangan riset di PAUD dan Sekolah Dasar menggunakan metode penelitian yang tepat. Hasil dari diseminasi ini diharapkan mampu memberikan pemikiran untuk meningkatkan pengembangan mutu penelitian dosen maupun mahasiswa. Seminar ini mempunyai beberapa topik, yaitu: Metode Penelitian Kualitatif, Metode Penelitian Kuantitatif, Metode Penelitian Tindakan Kelas, Metode Penelitian Campuran/Mix Method, dan Metode Penelitian Pengembangan (RnD). Crop Production for Agricultural Improvement
In the recent years, the looming food scarcity problem has highlighted plant sciences as an emerging discipline committed to devise new strategies for enhanced crop productivity. The major factors causing food scarcity are biotic and abiotic stresses such as plant pathogens, salinity, drought, flooding, nutrient deficiency or toxicity which substantially limit crop productivity world-wide. In this scenario, strategies should be adopted to achieve maximum productivity and economic crop returns. In this book we have mainly focused on physiological, biochemical, molecular and genetic bases of crop development and related approaches that can be used for crop improvement under environmental adversaries. In addition, the adverse effects of different biotic (diseases, pathogens etc.) and abiotic (salinity, drought, high temperatures, metals etc) stresses on crop development and the potential strategies to enhance crop productivity under stressful environments are also discussed.

Plant Growth Promoting Actinobacteria
Global yields of legumes have been relatively stagnant for the last five decades, despite the adoption of conventional and molecular breeding approaches. The use of plant growth-promoting (PGP) bacteria for improving agricultural production, soil and plant health has become one of the most attractive strategies for developing sustainable agriculture. Actinomycetes are bacteria that play an important role in PGP and plant protection, produce secondary metabolites of commercial interest, and their use is well documented in wheat, rice, beans, chickpeas and peas. In order to promote legumes, the general assembly of the UN recently declared 2016 the “International Year of Pulses.” In view of this development, this book illustrates how PGP actinomycetes can improve grain yield and soil fertility, improve control of insect pests and phytopathogens, and enhance host-plant resistance. It also addresses special topics of current interest, e.g. the role of PGP actinomycetes in the biofortification of legume seeds and bioremediation of heavy metals.
