ICoBioSE is the international conference held by the Biology Department and Master Program of Biology Education, Faculty of Mathematic and Sains, Universitas Negeri Padang. The aim of this international conference is to facilitate scientific publications of lecturers, biologists and biology education experts, diploma, master, and doctoral students and natural science experts. The scope of conference are botany, zoology, ecology, microbiology, genetics, molecular biology, bioinformatics, biochemistry, biophisic, environmental health, conservation and biology education.
This book explains the importance to acquire complex problem-solving in today’s job environment. The book describes how to use five problem-centered methods to design training for real-world complex problem-solving skills. The book briefly describes the five methods in the context of the complex problem-solving skills - Problem-based learning (PBL), Project-based learning, Scenario-based learning (SBL), Case-based learning method (CBL), and Simulation-based learning. The book also specifies six research-based guidelines, and how training experts can design a training curriculum that ensures acquiring and accelerating complex problem-solving skills in any complex domain.
In many parts of Africa, the demand for secondary teachers substantially exceeds supply due to factors such as teacher attrition, bottlenecks in the teacher training system and perceived unattractive conditions of service. This publication is based on a literature review and country studies from Ethiopia, Ghana, Guinea, Madagascar, Tanzania and Uganda.
