Constructions in French
The book Constructions in French is the first collected volume to focus on French syntax from a constructionist perspective. It has been written with two kinds of readers in mind: for readers interested in the relationship between the French linguistic tradition and cognitive linguistics, and for readers who would like to examine how constructional analysis can be applied to a variety of French language phenomena. The eleven papers illustrate the insights generated by combining lexicalist and constructionist approaches, focusing on syntax as a dynamic system and using corpus data from a variety of speech genres. The contributions provide new findings about French usage trends (in linguistics and in psycholinguistics), including insights into new, nonstandard and poorly studied constructions.

Applicative Constructions in the World’s Languages
This book presents a state-of-the-art cross-linguistic survey of applicative constructions in the functional-typological tradition. An introductory section sets the terminological and analytical stage, presents the methodology used by the different chapters, and provides a typological outlook. The individual contributions address the morphological, syntactic and semantic variation of applicatives, as well as their discourse-pragmatic function. They cover all major language families and some isolates that feature some illuminating version of the phenomenon, paying special attention to language-internal variation and unity. The study of the song takes one back to the study of vocal practices, from aesthetic objects to forms and to plural styles. The terminology of genres of song has aroused the interest of musicologists, medievalists, and ethnomusicologists who hope with it to achieve a better understanding of their fields. The analysis presented here of the French vocabulary connected with chanson starts from a literary genre referred to by the word chanson. A corpus of 500 dictionaries and 900 studies and essays is used to examine the word chanson and its associated word family from their beginnings in Old French up to the modern French language.
