Literature of Voice
This collection brings together general lectures and specific researches conducted among the Sama and Sama Dilaut in Tawi-Tawi; the Tala-andig Bukidnon in Mindanao; and the Ifugao, the Itneg, and the Ilocano in Northern Luzon. An anthology of excerpts from seventeen epics in their original languages is presented together with an English or Filipino translation. A video-CD contains performances of epic poetry of the Tala-andig Bukidnon, Kalinga, and the Sama Dilaut.

Versification
Versification describes the marriage of language and poetic form through which poetry is produced. Formal principles, such as metre, alliteration, rhyme, or parallelism, take precedence over syntax and prosody, resulting in expressions becoming organised as verse rather than prose.
