A day longer, is not just poetry, it's life in eternal form! The poems in this collection, are a testament to the fluidity and consistency of life and the baggages that comes with it. With this collection, the poet takes a slice of every aspect of life and human adaptability to his very environment. He writes on the core essence of mankind, his spirituality and his everyday travails. Life is a mystery and the poems in this collection, in very simple but deeply insightful ways, breathes fresh air into the nerves of frail and drifting souls, for indeed, we all should push for a day longer.
“The first thing that comes to mind upon seeing this book,is the title - just like clay. It was never intended to title the book so, but fate seemed so bent on having it’s way. Clay, is a natural creative entity or component. It’s ability to be transformed into almost anything and it’s elasticity, is simply pure magic. Poetry, likewise is the beauty of creativity and arts. Poetry can be used as a tool for emotional, mental, psychological and socio- educative advancement. A poet as such has the ability to mould his words into the perfect poem hence the seeming resemblance to clay. The beautiful thing about this project, is the fact that the author assembled a beautiful team of natural and distinctive bards, who spared no magic in the creation of this masterpiece. And so really, in all it’s essence and relevance, poetry is indeed JUST LIKE CLAY.”
When I set out writing this book, I had just one thing in mind: re-education. The world today has come to see the female gender as s rather weak, faulty and implicating breed. But that is far from the truth. The truth is that, women for ages immemorial, have always been the victims of all of man's vices and flaws. This being the case, I took it upon myself to correct those wrong views and perceptions using poetry as my tool and to also change the narrative of the woman being the harbinger of evil. This book is filled with nothing but pure admiration, adulation, respect and love for and to the female gender. I pray and hope that we find the poems in this collection as means of re-education and not only as mere arts.
"Ever wanted to continue a conversation with a lifelong friend who has died? Impossible, you say! Not for cardiologist and author Roger Mills and his Amherst College classmate and rowing partner from fifty years ago--the accomplished European research biologist Bernard Witholt. This book was born two years after Witholt's death, when his widow shared his journal about living with an "unruly heart" (that occasionally raced at 240 beats per minute) with Mills. 240 Beats per Minute recounts an extraordinary conversation--the combination of Bernie's journal and Roger's commentary. It's a read of such continuing surprise, discovery, triumph, and, in the end, mutual understanding and respect, that we readers become the luckiest of eavesdroppers: Long after we finish Life with an Unruly Heart, Bernie and Roger's conversation will live in our minds." --Paul Dimond, lawyer and author of The Belle of Two Arbors and Beyond Busing, winner of the Ralph J. Bunche Book of the Year Award
Reel Me In is a compilation of pieces and works centering mostly on love and life generally. It captures thoughts, dreams through the eyes of the author and is inspired mostly by the hallowed feelings of love sought for by many. Like the fisherman’s hook, it posits how love baits and draws many. " Gabie writes with profound imagery..one that makes you feel as though you were part of the poems. Her delivery is breathtakingly beautiful and I look forward to reading more of her works in the near future." Nnamdi Wenga Ikwuazom, Author of HEARTBEATS BY THE RIVER, A WOMAN IS MORE & JUST LIKE CLAY.
