This essay will show that security is indeed a highly contested concept, but that it has been questioned whether security can also be classified as an “essentially contested concept” in the way Walter Bryce Gallie introduced this term. The criticism of the classification of security as a contested concept as formulated by David Baldwin will be drawn into account as well as Arnold Wolfers' conclusion that security is a highly subjective matter. Furthermore, Ken Booth's suggestion for an interpretation of security in terms of emancipation in the Post-Cold War Era will be considered.

This Lied which is a setting of a scene of Johann Wolfgang von Goethe's Faust I exemplary shows the mastery of Schubert. With seemingly simple means he paints the clear picture of smitten Gretchen who sits at the spinning wheel and yearns for the intellectual, older, nobleman Heinrich Faust after their kiss in the garden house. The following provides an in-depth musictheoretical analysis of this Lied to show that Schubert did not only provide a suitable musical adaption of Goethe's poem but he even enhanced the picture of smitten Gretchen and “paints” beside her emotions and thoughts also her motions.

From this premise, Theatricality in the Horror Film argues that scary movies often create their terrifying effects stylistically and structurally through a radical break with the realism of normality in the form of monstrous theatricality. Research Paper (undergraduate) from the year 2011 in the subject Musicology - Miscellaneous, grade: A (entspricht 1), Utrecht University (Roosevelt Academy), course: Music in Context, language: English, abstract: Even persons who describe themselves as Schubert lovers may be surprised by the fact that the master of Lieder Franz Schubert (1797-1828) also composed up to 21 works for the stage. Why these pieces are almost forgotten today, can be answered rather easily. From the twelve pieces which he finished, only four have been performed in his life time and were also not very successful. But also today, the pieces can be scarcely found on the playing list of theatres, even in Germany and Austria. Literature often offers the possible explanation that the used libretti were of bad quality and Schubert, the “lyricist” (Partsch 20), was not able of supplying opera dramatics. The simplification that this assumption contains will be explained, especially in regard to the problematic history of German opera itself.
