Bioethics
The aim of this book is to introduce and discuss bioethics in a three-synergistic way: from the foundations to the current debates in relation to healthcare and social bioethics, and thereafter the possible future challenges. In this sense, the target audience can be from diverse disciplines: life and medical sciences, law, philosophy, psychology, and education. The book will be useful to high school students, in their first contacts with bioethics, college students, teachers and researchers, and the general public interested in these controversial debates of the past, present and future of bioethics.

La Bioética es una joven disciplina con apenas tres décadas de recorrido en nuestro país. Durante todo este tiempo, la Cátedra de Bioética de la Universidad Pontificia Comillas ha contribuido activamente a la reflexión, diálogo y divulgación de la Bioética. Progrés humà i responsabilitat social
El llibre constitueix especial motiu de satisfacció per recollir un conjunt de treballs científics exposats en conferències i col·loquis durant els actes celebrats l'any 2001 i, especialment, el 2002 per commemorar els vint-i-cinc anys de vida de l'Institut.\nAquest volum conté bàsicament les conferències de tres actes principals: el primer, del dia 14 de desembre del 2001, que va tractar el tema del professionalisme a la bioètica desenvolupat pel doctor Albert Oriol Bosch, director de l'Institut d'Estudis de la Salut. El segon, del 26 d'abril de 2002, va aplegar destacats representants de les universitats de Catalunya sota el lema "Els reptes de la bioètica al segle XXI". Aquests dos actes tingueren lloc a l'Auditori de l'Edifici Docent Sant Joan de Déu d'Esplugues. El tercer fou la cloenda de l'aniversari i va tenir lloc el 15 de novembre del mateix any, i va constituir una trobada de caire internacional celebrada al Palau de la Generalitat de Catalunya, amb la participació de rellevants especialistes de la bioètica mundial per dialogar sobre el tema genèric "Diàleg bioètic, progrés humà i responsabilitat social".\n
