Space in Romanian and Hungarian Cinema
This book examines the structuring of space in Romanian and Hungarian cinema, and particularly how space is used to express the deep imprint of a socialist past on a post-socialist present. It considers this legacy of the Eastern European socialist regimes by interrogating the suffocating, tyrannical and enclosing structures that are presented in film. By tracing such paradigmatic models as horizontal and vertical enclosure, this book aims to show how enclosed spatial structuring restages the post-socialist era to produce an implicit and collective form of remembrance. While closely scrutinizing the interplay of location and image, Space in Romanian and Hungarian Cinema offers a new approach to the cinema of the region, which unites the filmic productions under a defined, post-socialist Eastern European spatial umbrella. By simultaneously portraying the gloom of a socialist past, while also conveying a sense of longing for a pre-capitalist era, these films convey how sense of unity and also ambivalence is a defining hallmark of Eastern European cinema.

Am încercat să rememorez etapele de lucru la acest personaj fabulous, fascinant, în tentativa de a creiona o posibilă metodă de lucru, care ar putea să fie sprijin pentru tinerii actori, pentru a combate frica sau blocajele ce pot apărea la întâlnirea cu rolurile care par copleșitoare. Am realizat o autoanaliză onestă, pentru a putea stabili momentele-cheie în gândirea mea artistică, în speranța că vor inspira la rândul lor. Un personaj uriaș, fascinant poate prinde actorul într-un iureș periculos, care poate trece dincolo de interpretarea propriu-zisă. Cât de mult te lași bântuit de materialul de studiu, cât din tine lași în el, ce păstrezi pentru tine și cum te desprinzi, cum te rupi de un astfel de personaj, care te poate înghiți, acestea sunt câteva aspecte la care am meditat.
Stima de sine a actorului în lupta cu fricile și blocajele
Psihicul actorului este solicitat la maxim în actul creativ, ceea ce conduce la necesitatea existenței unei stime de sine echilibrate, care să ne ofere suportul unor explorări interioare și exterioare interesante, incitante, cu rezultate artistice surprinzătoare. Actul actoricesc presupune incursiuni conduse conștient, în zone de situații limită, provocări ce pot descuraja sufletește artistul atât din punct de vedere creativ cât și personal. Frica, blocajele, inhibarea creativității, incapacitatea de a avea distanță față de propria creație, sunt doar câteva aspecte care sunt afectate de o stimă de sine aflată în dezechilibru. Încrederea în propria persoană și în capacitățile personale de a finaliza satisfăcător proiectele artistice, echilibrarea psihică, sunt zone ce pot fi exersate conștient pentru dobândirea stării de fericire în timpul actului creativ.
Echilibrul psihic al actorului în actul creației
Înțelegerea fenomenului creativ și a nevoii de exprimare artistică mi se par esențiale pentru formarea unei metode de lucru actoricești bazate pe strategii de lucru care să reunească luciditatea și inspirația. Explorarea teritoriilor interioare presupune o dezechilibrare voită, periculoasă atunci când drumul invers nu este întărit de cunoașterea unor metode de re-echilibrare. Marile experiențe artistice se bazează pe cutremure interioare uriașe, deci e nevoie ca artistul să fie stăpânul propriului psihic, să fie capabil să revină la el însuși în siguranță.
Radical Revival as Adaptation
This book examines the radical reinterpretation of precursor texts and prompts as an innovative form of adaptation for the stage. In this context, stage adaptations are defined as active and risk-taking interventions on pre-existing sources, dramatic and otherwise, that can range from single-authored plays to collaborative creations and devising projects.
