DESTINY'S JOURNEY
Desy was part Organic, part Genetic. She had been created in a lab, and looked nothing like her family. She hated the fact that she looked different from her brothers. She grew up listening to her brothers tell a family legend that had been handed down through many generations. The legend promised that someday a brilliant orb of light would appear. And, on that day a mystical transformation would take place. A selected ancestor of days long forgotten would find a special person, and together they would travel to a place beyond tomorrow. Now, Desy's world was about to come to an end. It had been abused for too many generations, and there was no longer any hope for a future. As Desy sat and cried under a scraggly tree, she unknowingly wrapped her fingers around a shiny stone fragment. Suddenly, her world spun and disappeared, leaving her swirling inside a purple mist. When she stopped spinning, she found herself just beyond tomorrow.
Olad's Way
Olad was the first-born son of the second son in the line of Kane, a prestigious lineage. His life was simple while he was growing up, but as he grew into a man, he realized his future was fated. His cousin, Zhatma, the first-born of a first-born, should have inherited the leadership and responsibilities of the clan. But, his future was also fated. His life would not continue within the clan. That knowledge had been known since they were both toddlers. So, Olad would become the leader of the people, and the keeper of the way, the law. He would not decline the position as his uncle, and then his cousin had done. Olad had accepted the position. He followed his ancient great-grandfather as he guided Olad's life and molded him into the man he would become; the clan's leader, healer, and shaman. But, he would need help. His great-grandfather was too old to offer very much more than his sage advice. Olad needed someone to walk by his side, to help him, to give him strength. But, who?

Dash grew up on the outer edge of the village, and had questioned his identity since he was a young teen. Now, with his home finished, he was ready to take a wife to insure that he would fit into society. He found a young woman who needed a husband to guarantee her place in society as well.
