Shell Shocked

Operation Protective Edge, launched in early July 2014, was the third major Israeli assault on the Gaza Strip in six years. It was also the most deadly. By the conclusion of hostilities some seven weeks later, 2,200 of Gaza’s population had been killed, and more than 10,000 injured. In these pages, journalist Mohammed Omer, a resident of Gaza who lived through the terror of those days with his wife and then three-month-old son, provides a first-hand account of life on-the-ground during Israel’s assault. The images he records in this extraordinary chronicle are a literary equivalent of Goya’s “Disasters of War”: children’s corpses stuffed into vegetable refrigerators, pointlessly ...

The Omer Season

Revelation 19: 7 and 8, KJV, states, "Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready. And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints." Who is this "wife"? What is righteousness in the LORD's eyes? Where or how is the fine, clean, white linen - "the righteousness of the saints"- made or found? What does "made herself ready" mean? Who, what, where, when, why, and how does this happen? You will find the answers in this book where Leviticus 23:15 and 16 and the preparation of the First Fruits offering to the LORD are unraveled- opened-examined-and dissected. Wisdom from the ages identifies the Messiah's special, Remnant Bride (both male and female) in THE OMER SEASON: AND A STUDY OF THE MESSIAH'S REMNANT BRIDE! Reader be forewarned. "But be ye doers of the word, and nothearers only, deceiving your own selves." James 1:22 KJV

"My spirits were instantly lifted when I saw the glorious Cathedral and felt much happier" TNH Smith Pearse, Saint Omer 1917 Saint-Omer, an attractive ville fortifié in northern France has a British thread that weaves through each century. It was a caché for Saint Thomas Becket in 1165. It grew powerful as an English staple town in 1314. It had great religious and intellectual clout as home to the English Jesuits, fleeing the Reformation. It fell due to French Revolution. Napoleon based his troops here in his invasion plans of England in 1803. It was a central hub for the British Expeditionary Force during the start of WW1. It is home to the RAF and was the starting point for D.Bader's bid for freedom in 1941. "Written with huge enthusiasm and terrific research, it's an essential read for those interested in local history and travel in France." Tim Donovan, international property consultant and bon viveur

TRANSLATOR’S NOTE Ömer Seyfettin’s some stories disturb me. I read his stories when I was a kid, maybe this is the reason some of them disturb me. In Turkey, Ömer Seyfettin’s books are children books, they are recommended for children. This disturbs me more than the stories. I love Ömer Seyfettin’s works, I love them very much. But they are not for little children, i think. Ömer Seyfettin was a amazing storyteller. He should be known all over the world. These two stories are just the beginning. I will translate as much as I can. I’m starting with just two stories because I’m a begginner at translating stories. My e-mail adress is yazarmustafatuna@gmail.com, I will be very thankful for your feedbacks.
