Josepha was born 24 February 1802 in Merode, Prussia, to Peter Behr and Johanna Maria Klath. They had two children. She died 24 August 1831 in Merode, Prussia. Johann married Anna Katherina Stiel 28 April 1832 in Merode, Prussia. She was born in 1805 in Scheveahutte, Prussia, to Herman Stiel and Anna Marie Schleicher. They had three children. Johann died 8 March 1866 in Pine Bluff, Wisconsin. Johann and his family immigrated to the United States in 1854. Descendants live mostly in Wisconsin.

The struggle to integrate the Baltimore Orioles mirrored the fight for civil rights in Baltimore. The Orioles debuted in 1954, the same year the Supreme Court struck down public school segregation. As Baltimore experienced demonstrations, white flight and a 1968 riot, team integration came slowly. Black players--mostly outfielders--made cameo appearances as black fans stayed away in droves.
