Research Lines of the Department of Economics
Il volume offre un quadro complessivo dell’attività di ricerca svolta presso il Dipartimento di Economia dell’Università Roma Tre, con l’obiettivo di favorire collaborazioni con ricercatori di università italiane e internazionali e di fornire indicazioni agli studenti potenziali circa gli interessi che potranno perseguire iscrivendosi ai corsi di Laurea Magistrale o di Dottorato di Ricerca del Dipartimento. Il volume è suddiviso in capitoli, all’interno dei quali i progetti di ricerca sono raggruppati in base all’argomento trattato, indicando per ciascun progetto i ricercatori in esso coinvolti. Consultando il volume è quindi possibile sia individuare tutti i progetti di ricerca in cui è coinvolto ciascun membro del Dipartimento, sia identificare l’insieme dei progetti che afferiscono a uno stesso tema di ricerca. I progetti riflettono tutti gli interessi coltivati nel Dipartimento, che comprende studiosi di macro e micro economia, politica economica, finanza, statistica, matematica, economia aziendale, diritto. Il volume raccoglie alcuni contributi presentati durante le Giornate della Ricerca, tenute presso il Dipartimento di Economia dell’Università Roma Tre, il 16 e 17 maggio 2019. Oltre a due sessioni plenarie – di apertura e di chiusura – si sono svolte otto sessioni parallele, durante le quali sono stati presentati ben 30 contributi. I temi trattati hanno rispecchiato i principali interessi di ricerca del Dipartimento: la teoria economica micro e macro; le politiche di bilancio, ambientali e di integrazione; la distribuzione personale e funzionale del reddito; il commercio internazionale; la finanza e il sistema bancario; i metodi quantitativi. Dimensions of Poverty
This anthology constitutes an important contribution to the interdisciplinary debate on poverty measurement and alleviation. Absolute and relative poverty—both within and across state boundaries—are standardly measured and evaluated in monetary terms. Designing Indicators for a Plural Legal World engages with the role of quantification in law, and its impact on law and development and judicial reform. It seeks to examine how different institutions shape and influence the making and use of legal indicators globally. This book sheds light on the limitations of existing quantification tools, which measure rule of law due to their lack of engagement with contexts and countries in the Global South. It offers an alternative framework for measurement, which moves away from an institutional look at rule of law, to a bottom up, user centered approach that places importance on the lives that people lead, and the challenges that they face.
