They live in a time when handwritten letters were important and, sometimes, the only means of communication. Their story starts when they are in their teens living in the early 1960s and then travel through their respective lives as they encounter pain, betrayal, and regret. They go through a time of change which includes war, upheaval in the United States, and terrible loss.
