Patrick's Book of Negatives

Patrick's Book of Negatives

Patrick Bradley is an interesting fellow. His vision and ideas are more than merely off center, they refuse to recognize the normal ideas which common minded folk assume to be simple truths. His world is inspired by iconography, symbolism, and interpretations of such which formulate puzzles and metaphysical ideas which only he can make sense of. To listen to him explain what he perceives is simply mind boggling, a sort of cunning only reachable by "Beautiful Minds", where connections are made and unmade, exempt from absolutes and grasping at seeing patterns in static chaos. Of his "Book of Negatives", Patrick was inspired by something so seemingly unrelated as his negative blood type, and his belief that his own struggles with mental health gives him a sense of the world which he describes as an extraordinary sense, a spiritual sense, which seeks to engage with delusion as a new form of sensory experience, which need not fit with the generalizations which others call "reality".

House of Commons - Culture, Media and Sport Committee: Supporting The Creative Economy - Volume I: HC 674

This report warns that the extraordinary success of the UK's creative industries may be jeopardised by any dilution of intellectual property rights and the failure to tackle online piracy. The Committee also strongly condemns the failure of Google in particular to tackle access of copyright infringing websites through its search engine. Such illegal piracy, combined with proposals arising from the Hargreaves review to introduce copyright exceptions, and a failure to strengthen copyright enforcement as envisaged by the Digital Economy Act 2010, together threaten the livelihoods of the individuals and industries that contribute over £36 billion annually to the UK economy. Also, the Olympics N...

Fort Collins

Photographer Mark Miller opened his studio in Fort Collins, Colorado, in 1914. The town he chose to live and work in sits in a river valley in northern Colorado, nestled between the Rocky Mountain foothills and the semiarid high plains, with Denver to the south and Cheyenne, Wyoming, to the north. Established as a Civil War-era army post, the town was a Wild West frontier outpost until it was tamed in the 1870s by the arrival of a land-grant college and the railroad. By the turn of the century, Fort Collins had become a quietly respectable college town with a thriving economy and steadily increasing population. Over almost six decades, as the small town evolved into a city, Miller photographed people, businesses, and landscapes. Fort Collins: The Miller Photographs offers a representative sampling of the over 70,000 Miller images, a collection housed at the Fort Collins Museum's Local History Archive.
