LeRoy Patrick Papers
The LeRoy Patrick papers consist of two series housed in three boxes. The first series, titled LeRoy Patrick, predominantly consists of newspaper clippings. Additionally, the first series also consists of awards, articles, bulletins, correspondence, newsletters and programs pertaining to the Patrick career. The second series, titled the Patrick family, consists of newspaper clippings, correspondence and sundry items relating to his wife and children. LeRoy collected clippings of his involvement in Pittsburgh civil rights as well as articles about his family. The journals, awards, articles, celebrations and correspondence relate either to the Patrick fight for civil rights, his distinguished community service record in Pittsburgh or his services as a religious leader.

The LeRoy Patrick Photographs include photographs of a naturalization ceremony in the Federal Building on April 20, 1956; LeRoy Patrick at the luncheon honoring Walter L. Moser on January 14, 1965; Mrs. LeRoy Patrick during the inaugural ball in Harrisburg, January 20, 1971; and a photo of Mr. And Mrs. LeRoy Patrick meeting with first lady Barbara Bush on November 20, 1989.

MARINES
The history and lore of the United States Marine Corps are likely unmatched. Steeped in the rich history and tradition of the Corps since its founding in 1775, this book focuses on more recent history, specifically the author’s experiences as a young Marine in the 1960s, including his tour of duty in Vietnam. It also includes biographical profiles of more than 100 other Marines who fought in Vietnam or other conflicts. Most of those profiled are Marines with whom the author served or has come to know since his active military service. The 30th Marine Commandant, General Carl Mundy, has written: “Few who have borne the title [United States Marine] fail to identify with it throughout their entire lives.” Marines are, as Shakespeare has written, “We few, we happy few, we band of brothers.” And brothers are members of a family.
