Le contexte. Approches transdisciplinaires
Sans exclusive, et sans prétention à l’exhaustivité, les analyses réunies dans ce volume touchent à un ou plusieurs domaines à la fois, tels que la littérature, la grammaire, l’art contemporain, le cinéma, la communication, l’informatique, l’intelligence artificielle, l’analyse du discours, la géostratégie, l’économie, la publicité, la sociolinguistique, la sémiotique, la poétique, l’histoire, la philosophie, la psychologie, la sociologie, la didactique, etc., et questionnent le paradigme du contexte comme un paradigme pluriel quant à ses réfractions, à ses inhibitions et à ses instrumentalisations. Elles l’interrogent au regard de situations linguistiques contemporaines particulières, de normes exogènes ou endogènes, ou de variations contextuelles. Elles l’insèrent dans le questionnement général des Humanités, en tant qu’il est le socle qui en oriente les trajectoires et les significations, ou examinent tout particulièrement les enjeux contextuels de la production du sens dans les œuvres d’art, les pratiques sociales et les discours politiques contemporains.
L'hybridation en contexte camerounais
Depuis l’année académique 2009-2010, École Normale Supérieure de l’Université de Maroua met à la disposition des départements un fonds d’appui à la recherche destiné à encourager et à soutenir les efforts de chercheurs de toutes les disciplines. Les contributions qui paraissent dans ce premier numéro des Cahiers du DELFLEF sont des analyses littéraires, linguistiques, culturelles ou plus spécifiquement didactiques qui aideront nos étudiants et autres chercheurs à mieux appréhender la notion d’hybridation et les phénomènes qui lui sont connexes dans le contexte camerounais. Les Cahiers se proposent d’être la vitrine de la vie scientifique du département de langue française et littératures d’expression française.
Nouveaux discours sur l'Afrique
En se penchant sur Les nouveaux discours sur l'Afrique, ce premier numéro de Mosaïques répond à une exigence de pluridisciplinarité, pour évaluer les discours qui ont jalonné la littérature politique des leaders du monde en direction de l'Afrique ces dernières années. Le but est de montrer comment cette littérature politique actuelle mobilise et déploie divers imaginaires au sujet de l'Afrique contemporaine et des Africains.

Language Contact in a Postcolonial Setting
This timely book brings together research on the features and evolution of Cameroon English and Cameroon Pidgin English, approached from a variety of innovative multilingual frameworks that focus on the emergence of mother tongue speakers. The authors illustrate how language and population contact, history (colonialism), multilingualism, translation, and indigenization have contributed to shaping the norms of postcolonial Englishes and Pidgins. Employing naturalistic data, the volume provides a new fascinating perspective that better situates and supplements existing research in the fields of African Englishes and Creolistics. It is particularly of key interest to sociolinguists, contact linguists, Africanists, Anglicists, creolists and historical linguists.

At the Colony, though completely dehumanized, Dennis maintains self-value and something to live for in life - God. In dispensing so completely and successfully with any authorial presence in this extremely rare but deeply psychological novel, Asong pushes the art of African fiction to a great new height. The novel shows his intellectual and perhaps formal vortex. His iridescent flushes of exquisite know-how in art, philosophy and psychology make the work worth a thinker's time.
No Way to Die
What happens when a young man of talent and visions of greatness falls victim to a cruel set of circumstances over which he has no control? No Way to Die is such a story. Dennis Nunqam Ndendemajem gives up! Even when he is given a second chance to start again, he refuses to gather the broken pieces of his life together. He refuses to rebuild, and refuses to live. But he also finds no way to die.
Chopchair
The extremely irritable and quick-tempered chieftain, Akendong II has 14 children, all girls, and is saddened by the fact that he has no chopchair, a male heir to his throne. Then news comes to him that his favourite wife has given birth to a pair of twins, boys. He is even more angered by the fact that he has two heirs, a source of trouble for his kingdom. To avoid his wrath, his councillors change the story, sending away one of the boys to grow in hiding. Learning of the truth about his birth 15 years afterwards, the prince in hiding returns, kidnaps the palace prince and demands his full share of the kingdom. His will is done, but at a very great cost to the chief's peace of mind and relationship with his people. This is by far the shortest of Asong's novels and the least complicated by comparison. But the conflicts, the hallmarks of his art are still there, so also is his breathtaking suspense.
