The author tarried in 46 countries and composed poems to find a hope that people could embrace with love the differences of the race, belief, sex or even propensities and overcome widespread animosity. The drawing with the text on the last page was made by Amie reminiscing about her fifth wedding anniversary.

The Lloyd’s Register of Yachts was first issued in 1878, and was issued annually until 1980, except during the years 1916-18 and 1940-46. Two supplements containing additions and corrections were also issued annually.
