Edgewalkers is a collection of diverse experiences in and apart from the westernized university. Through observations and positionalities narrated from various vantage points, authors recount the ways that the westernized university serves the knowledge enterprise of coloniality while considering its transformative possibilities. Presented in four sections- Section I: Land, places, and economy, Section II: Authority, power, and institutions, Section III: Normativity, being, and society, and Section IV: Knowledge, subjectivity, and praxis-the volume moves beyond traditional critiques of the westernized university structure and conventional connections between scholarship and social responsibility. Through scholarship that engages multiple lenses of ethics, politics, and poetics, authors explore the multiple ways that knowledge and spaces of knowing are produced as they share pellucid meanings of social and epistemic justice, decoloniality and embodiment, and vivid re-imaginings of what the university can be.

Critical Reflections on Indigenous Religions
The study of indigenous religions has become an important academic field, particularly since the religious practices of indigenous peoples are being transformed by forces of globalization and transcontinental migration. In his 1978 book Nelson Goodman coined the term “worldmaking.” The new-materialistic approach to the potential for meaning of extra-human materiality and its multidimensional entanglements and the intraconnectedness shifts the concept of world-making into new perspectives of interpretation. In the categories of Karen Barad’s “agential realism,” it applies to practices of knowledge production and to a diffractive (re)configuration of the world’s matter and its meaning. “World-making” gains a further specific expression in Donna Haraway’s concept of “worlding” which shows the intraactive entanglement of matter, substance, meaning, storytelling and thinking on the fundamental level of the polysemic linguistic tissue itself.

Food, Sex and Strangers
Religion is more than a matter of worshipping a deity or spirit. For many people, religion pervades every part of their lives and is not separated off into some purely private and personal realm. Religion is integral to many people's relationship with the wider world, an aspect of their dwelling among other beings - both human and other-than-human - and something manifested in the everyday world of eating food, having sex and fearing strangers. "Food, Sex and Strangers" offers alternative ways of thinking about what religion involves and how we might better understand it. Drawing on studies of contemporary religions, especially among indigenous peoples, the book argues that religion serves to maintain and enhance human relationships in and with the larger-than-human world.
